Mahi

Every group needs a drama queen, and Mahi is here to bring the drama. This girl always knows what she wants and what she wants is food – and she’s not above pulling a few tricks to get it. When she and her groupmates experienced a habitat for the first time, her caregivers had lovingly filled the faux termite mound with goodies for the chimps to discover. Mahi found the treats immediately, but did she food bark to let her buddies know what she’d found? Absolutely not. Mahi kept quiet and enjoyed her discovery solo as her groupmates explored their new surroundings. Finders keepers! We’re happy to report that these days, Mahi is doing more exploring of her own and getting some nice exercise in as she traverses her habitat – we wouldn’t say she’s a fitness influencer just yet; you’ll never catch her skipping nap time in her favorite hammock.
