Alex

Alex may be the alpha of his group, but this chill guy has no problem doing his own thing. (Case in point: When he stumbled upon the faux termite mound that caregivers had loaded with apple sauce, he sat down solo and enjoyed instead of food barking to alert his groupmates of the treats.) He’s a true “chimp’s chimp” and not concerned with whatever the humans are up to, but underneath his tough-looking exterior, he’s a bit of a softie who allows Gage and Sophie to steal snacks from him. He can also be sweetly playful, and he has a soft spot for groupmate Lexus (she likes to pile her hay on Alex, which often turns into a very cute play session). Every morning, Alex does his alpha duty of rousing the group up for a good patrol walk along the perimeter of their habitat – Gage, Martin, and some of the girls are always game for their morning walk.
